The Highline High Pirates lost their Homecoming football game Friday night, Oct. 25, 2024 to the Liberty Patriots, by a score of 49-20 at Highline Memorial Stadium.

The Pirates showed resilience with several standout plays, including a second-quarter touchdown that tied the game briefly, sparking momentum for the team.

Highline fought hard in the first half, and were behind by just a touchdown – 21-14 – at halftime.

However, Liberty’s gridiron game stepped up, with a mix of ground and air touchdowns to expand their lead, which widened through the last two quarters.

The Patriots grew their lead to 35-14 by the end of the third quarter, and despite the Pirates moving forward with solid yardage gains, they failed to convert drives into scores as the game progressed.

The Pirates end the 2024 season with a record of 2-6, landing them in last place in their new 3A Division.

This year, Highline moved up to the 3A KingCo District from 2A, and faced tougher opponents.

The Pirates final game will be a non-conference match at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2 against the Inglemoor Vikings at Highline Memorial Stadium.
