The Highline High School Pirates plundered the Interlake High Saints (Bellevue) in a varsity football game on Friday night, Sept. 15, 2023 by a score of 46-13.

After a scoreless 1st quarter, Interlake took an early 7-0 lead in the 2nd quarter.

But with around 9-minutes left in the half, QB Ronan Rasmussen threw a long touchdown pass to Marquawn McCraney, followed by a Nat Clay 2-point conversion run to put the Pirates up 8-7.

Another rushing TD and 2-point conversion increased Highline’s lead to 16-7.

Interlake then scored on a 30-yard pass but failed a 2-point conversion, and the score was 16-13 in favor of the Pirates at halftime.

Highline then took control of the game with another Rasmussen to McCraney long pass, a rushing TD by Adam Estrada and a Junior Houth 48-yard pass to Mark Baker to take a commanding 30-13 lead at the end of the 3rd.

The 4th quarter was again all Pirates, with rushing TDs by Adam Estrada and Nat Clay that sealed the game with a 46 – 13 final score.

The Highline Pirates now have a 2-1 overall and 1-0 league record in the KingCo 2A division, and are currently averaging 41.3 points per game and a +22-point differential average over three games.

The Pirates next take on the Evergreen Wolverines in an away conference game at Highline Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023.
